Chaos Engineering, in its current form, is primarily meant to be an instrument for sense-making in complex software landscapes. In this talk, we want to go beyond and show you how to use Chaos Engineering as part of your quality assurance practices. By diving deep into concrete examples, we will show you how you can use Chaos Engineering practices to increase the fidelity of your test automation setup. We'll be touching on the following topics:
Injecting chaos into local integration
Creating realistic test environments at a fraction of the cost and effort by injecting Chaos into mocked components
Spicing up your load tests with automated Chaos experiment execution
Automated reliability regression testing
If you are writing code in a DevOps environment, expect to walk away with some ideas for making reliability testing an integral part of your delivery pipeline.

Blockchain, NFT and smart contracts for my (Java) application
In den letzten Jahren sind Distributed-Ledger-Technologien wie Blockchain und Hashgraph ein Teil unserer modernen Welt geworden. Aber nicht alle in der Entwicklergemeinschaft unterstützen diesen Hype, und die Technologien werden oft als reine Buzzwords für Manager abgestempelt. Dazu kommt, dass einige fragwürdige Anwendungsfälle für NFTs durch die Medien gepusht wurden und die meisten Leute daher denken, dass NFT gleichbedeutend mit spekulativen PNGs ist die gelangweilte Affen zeigen!
In unserer Session werden wir Anwendungsfälle von Distributed-Ledger-Technologien vorstellen, die über Kryptowährungen oder das Verkaufen von PNGs hinausgehen. Wir werden die Technologien hinter Begriffen wie Smart Contracts oder Tokens vorstellen und anhand von Java-Beispielen konkrete Anwendungsfälle zeigen. Hierbei werden wir öffentlich zugängliche Distributed-Ledger-Systeme nutzen und auch deren Vor- bzw. Nachteile beleuchten.
Hendrik Ebbers is a Java champion, a member of JSR expert groups and a JavaOne rockstar. He has achieved all this through his passion for open source and communities. Hendrik is the founder and leader of the Java user group Dortmund and gives talks and presentations at conferences and selected user groups worldwide. Hendrik is a member of the JakartaEE working group (WG) and the Adoptium WG. In addition, Hendrik Ebbers is a member of the Board of Directors of the Eclipse Foundation. In addition to Eclipse-related projects, Hendrik also contributes to other open source software (OSS). For example, he is a core committer of the Hedera Hashgraph, the only open source public ledger written in Java. He helps Hedera and Swirlds Labs develop secure, fast, and reliable components using open source standards and well-known workflows.
